Program Description:

iPhones, and iPads, and Androids….Oh My! And you thought Mobile Learning was going to be easy? Well it can be. And it can be a great way to enhance your training programs. But just as with e-learning, it’s not a one-size fits all solution. Mobile is another tool in the toolbox. So when does it make sense to use it? And when you do use it, what’s the best way to do so? Looking for answers? Then you’ve come to the right place!

Join our Panel on June 4th and hear from industry leaders. Our panel members will answer your questions and offer up their favorite tips and tricks to either start you down the path to mobile learning, or help make your current mobile  programs more effective.

Matt Pierce


Matt Pierce works for TechSmith Corp., a software company that provides practical business and academic solutions that change how people communicate and collaborate across devices. For seven years, he directly managed the training and user assistance teams for TechSmith, and has experience leading the social media, video and technical support teams. Matt has also run TechSmith's visual communication web show, The Forge, interviewing guests from around the world discussing the use of visuals, video, and technology in education, training, marketing and more.  

Matt is a regular contributor to several online publications, and has published articles in various training publications in the U.S. and U.K. He has spoken multiple times at national and international conferences including ASTD TechKnowledge, the Society for Technical Communication Summit, Technical Communication UK, and Online Educa Berlin. A graduate of Indiana University’s School of Education’s Department of Instructional Systems Technology, Matt has 10 years-experience working in learning and development with a focus on visual instruction. 

Carla Torgerson

Carla Torgerson has more than 15 years of experience as an instructional designer and instructional strategist. Currently she is a Consultant with Spectrum Health University where she designs and develops non-clinical training for Spectrum Health, a not-for-profit health system with over 21,000 employees. Carla also teaches workshops about eLearning and mLearning for ATD.

In past roles, Carla has consulted with numerous Fortune 500 clients including McDonalds, Netflix, Facebook, Express, Fidelity, Cargill, Medtronic, Merck, and Best Western. She has designed solutions ranging from $15,000 to more than $2 million.

Carla has a Master’s degree in Education focused in technology-based education. She also has a Master’s of Business Administration (MBA), which helps her to see training through a business lens. She has authored numerous blogs and articles, including a chapter in Michael Allen's 2012 e-Learning Annual.

Chad Udell


As managing director of Float Mobile Learning, Chad Udell designs, develops and manages interactive Web and mobile projects. Chad has worked with industry-leading Fortune 500 companies and government agencies to concept, design and develop award winning experiences. Chad is recognized as an expert in mobile design and development, and he speaks regularly at national and international events and conferences on related topics. In 2012, Chad released his first book, “Learning Everywhere: How Mobile Content Strategies Are Transforming Training.” In 2014, he co-edited the book, “Mastering Mobile Learning: Tips and Techniques for Success” with Dr. Gary Woodill, Ed.D.

  

Sjoerd Boersma

 

 

Sjoerd Boersma co-founded LearningStone (www.learningstone.com) in 2012 with Michiel Klonhammer. LearningStone is an instant platform to support face-2-face training and coaching with a digital environment to promote Blended Learning. It offers added value at low cost. It saves immense amounts of time, improves learning retention and lets trainers offer better service without having to invest in their own ICT. LearningStone became partner of the eLearning Guild only months after it was launched in 2014. LearningStone has become the “go to” platform for professional trainers, coaches, and consultants. 

Prior to LearningStone, Sjoerd founded IRIS Safe & Secure schools in 2004 which was sold to a major software company of Student Tracking Systems.
