How Exceptional Managers Develop Talent Every Day

Program Description:

Growing talent is a top priority for most companies. However, despite considerable investments, many leaders globally report that their company’s talent growth has not kept pace with the needs of their business. Yet, there is a practical way to accelerate talent development that is well within companies’ reach without new processes, tools or heavy financial investments. Imagine employees being developed every day, not off the job, but in the job … through the expert guidance of their managers, a benefit few employees experience.

Learn and discuss how outstanding managers (researched from companies including Kraft, Siemens, Corning, Microsoft, IBM, Intel, Merck) confidently embrace hands-on employee development. They use practices of exceptional development managers (EDMs) to generate impressive gains in workforce capabilities. These EDMs apply their developmental skills to: astutely provide tailored stretch assignments, elegantly increase employees’ self-awareness, use development partners wisely, and shape the environment to drive development.  They know how to tuck these practices into their daily management routines without adding more work to their load. And, their developmental actions are tied to department goals, leading to even greater performance results and improved bottom line.

L&D can play a crucial role in growing the capacity of managers to develop their employees in significant ways, while also increasing employee engagement and performance.  So come and join us for this exciting seminar and take away some new knowledge!
