The Greater Philadelphia Chapter (ATD-PHL), established in 1978, is among the largest chapters of the international Association for Talent Development (ATD). Our vibrant community of professionals who develop talent in organizations includes trainers, facilitators, instructional designers, organizational development consultants, and educators from multiple disciplines. The chapter is noted for its high quality programming, popular special interest groups (SIGs), and outstanding regional conference (now in its 3rd year).
ATD-PHL strives to be an invaluable source of information, support, and networking for L&D professionals in the Philadelphia metro area. To that end, the chapter selects top speakers and exceptional venues for its monthly events and schedules additional social functions throughout the year. The chapter is also committed to fostering strong partnerships with area companies and universities in order to advance the field of L&D and ensure its success as the business landscape changes.
Started in 1943 as the American Society of Training Directors, this organization evolved to become the American Society for Training & Development (ASTD). As the scope and the impact of the training and development field has grown, the profession’s focus has broadened to link the development of people, learning, and performance to individual and organizational results.
To better meet the needs and represent the work of this dynamic profession, on May 6, 2014 ATD National announced its new brand: the Association for Talent Development (ATD).
Please visit our Membership page for more information on chapter benefits and how to join. We'd love to have you as part of our community.
