Professional Series Seminar - Instructional Design for Performance Impact

Date/Time: Thursday, October 4, 2018 (8:30am-5:00pm)

Location: Billtrust HQ - 1009 Lenox Dr #101, Lawrence Township, NJ 08648

When people ask why companies need a training department or team, what answer do you give? Can you articulate clearly and convincingly what role a trainer or instructional designer plays in an organization in 2018?

Let's face it - in the business world, training can seem like a luxury to many. And as we all know, when times get tough, training usually suffers one of the first blows as staff gets cut. So before the next economic downturn happens or your organization suffers a setback, why not invest time in your own career development and learn how to answer that first question with confidence?

If your job duties include words or phrases like “training,” “organizational,” “human resources,” or “performance,” you need to attend this event. Local expert Joe Willmore, fresh off a wave of global engagements with ATD, will guide participants through a one-day seminar on how to analyze and design for employee performance. Whether you’re new in the field or a grizzled veteran (or even if you lack grizzle), you’re sure to learn something surprising. We expect another big crowd for this event, so register today to ensure your seat!

Part one will focus on front-end analysis. With a very hands-on approach, you will learn to to identify and quantify business goals, assess performance, create objectives in measurable terms, and spot and fix performance gaps.

Part two will zoom in specifically on performance gaps and understanding top performers. This more detailed, focus session will give you guided practice in using the tools and techniques experts use to diagnose, remedy, and measure employees' work on the job. In addition, you will learn that the fastest way to improve performance is to identify exemplars/top performers, and also how to observe, measure, and interact with them so that their success can be translated into a formula that works for others.

Joe Willmore has over 35 years of experience as a performance consultant with his own practice serving a wide range of clients including: the World Bank, the US EPA, Wal-Mart, the Wilderness Society, NSA, CMAA, USAID, Lockheed-Martin, Under Armour, Amtrak, VIA Rail, Houston Texans, National Geographic Society, Washington Wizards, and the Washington Nationals.

Specialties: Performance Analysis and Diagnostics (front-end analysis), Training and Facilitation, Strategic Planning, Instructional Design, and Customer Service.

Cost: $175 for ATD-PHL Members with discount code: ldphilly2018 (choose 'partner organization' option when registering)
