Welcome to the Pennsylvania Executive Education Series sponsored by your ATD chapter. Every 2nd Wednesday of the month we'll be presenting a thought leader in executive education coming from our most prestigious academic institutions and organizations across the state.
These events are intended for organizational leaders who view talent management, organizational development and training from the C-suite impact. If you're a leader in your organization, network with like minded individuals and learn how others in similar roles are driving talent in their organizations.
Wednesday, January 13th--> Kathy Pearson PhD.
Innovation creates opportunities but also uncertainties. Most executive education providers avoid uncertainties at all costs. How can they tackle innovation with such a fear of the possible risks?
The ability to Innovate has always been a highly coveted competency for organizations, including executive education providers. However, successful innovation requires a culture that supports and promotes creativity and experimentation – which is a rare culture in reality, even in executive development. Part of the challenge is that most leaders want to minimize and mitigate risks and uncertainties, not encourage uncertainty!
As everyone knows, 2020 brought great uncertainty to the business environment due to the global pandemic. Interestingly, many organizations actually became more innovative out of sheer necessity and survival. One question moving forward is how do leader harness the power of experimentation created by these unusual circumstances?
Kathy will share her experiences with senior leaders in 2020 (both within executive education and outside of this industry) and provide possible actions to build and maintain the innovative culture.
The Vistex Institute for Executive Learning & Research at Lehigh College of Business is pleased to host the inaugural event of the ATD Pennsylvania Executive Education Consortium.
