Executive presence used to mean polish, gravitas, and having all the answers. Today it's about authenticity, vulnerability, and a "listen to learn" mindset that invites people in rather than impressing them from a distance.
When leaders and practitioners can name their purpose and tell the story of how they became who they are, people don't just understand what they do. They trust why they do it, and that's where real buy-in starts.
Christine Miles spoke at our recent ATD Philadelphia Liberate Your Learning Conference, and now she's joining our Delaware County / West Chester / King of Prussia Geographic Interest Group. TEDx speaker, award-winning author, and creator of The Listening Path, Christine believes people don't care how great you are; they care how you became great. Everyone has greatness within them, waiting to be named, understood, and shared.
Caught Christine's "Shine a Light" session at the conference? This one is brand new, turning the lens from listening to others to the story you need to hear from yourself.
This isn't a sit-and-listen evening. Christine blends powerful stories with interactive reflection, so you'll leave with something you've started building yourself.
Heard Christine at the Conference?
At Liberate Your Learning, Christine's session, "Shine a Light: How to Listen So Others Feel Heard," was about listening to others. This evening, the lens turns on you: the most important story you need to listen to is your own. It's a different session with a different focus, so come on in even if you were in the room in September.
What You Will Experience & Learn
- Hear the stories: See how leaders build trust and buy-in by sharing how they became who they are.
- Reflect and interact: Explore the most important story you need to listen to: your own.
- Build your purpose story: Use a simple four-part process to draft your own.
- Put it to work: Learn how to use your purpose story every day to show who you are, why you lead, and how you invite others into your vision.
