Welcome to the Pennsylvania Executive Education Series sponsored by your ATD chapter.  Every 2nd Wednesday of the month we'll be presenting a thought leader in executive education coming from our most prestigious academic institutions and organizations across the state.

These events are intended for organizational leaders who view talent management, organizational development and training from the C-suite impact.  If you're a leader in your organization, network with like minded individuals and learn how others in similar roles are driving talent in their organizations.

Wednesday, February 10th--> Mario Moussa PhD., MBA

Session Description:

The Culture Puzzle: Harnessing the Forces That Drive Your Organization’s Success

In a world where businesses change at a dizzying pace, what can leaders do to build flexible and adaptive workplaces that inspire people to achieve extraordinary results? The answer lies in recognizing and aligning the elusive forces— or the “puzzling” pieces —that shape your organization’s culture.

With thirty years’ worth of research, teaching, and consulting experience, Mario Moussa brings a wealth of experience to creating nimble organizations. A globally recognized management expert, he will explain how to access the full power of your culture by harnessing the Four Forces that drive it.

Vision: Embrace a common purpose that illuminates shared aspirations and plans.

Interest: Foster a deep commitment to authentic relationships and the organization’s future.

Habit: Establish routines and rituals reinforce "the way we do things around here.”

Innovation: Promote the constant tinkering that produces surprising new solutions to old problems.

“Think of the Four Forces as the water, soil, sunlight, and skill it takes to make a garden healthy and productive,” he writes in his new book, The Culture Puzzle (co-authored with Derek Newberry and Greg Urban). When leaders nourish their teams with support and encouragement, they are rewarded with a bountiful harvest. The most successful companies satisfy employees’ thirst to do meaningful work, gain respect, and be part of a vibrant community.

Participants in this session will be introduced to the four-part Culture Evaluator. The results will guide them in building the kinds of companies that serve all stakeholders and thrive in a world of constant transformation.
