In today’s rapidly changing work environment, L&D practitioners are tasked with inspiring growth while navigating new technologies, shifting contexts, and human complexity. Amidst the changes, our core human needs —safety, belonging, autonomy, and meaning—remain constant.

In this 90-minute experiential session, Colleen Bertrand brings her expertise as a yoga teacher, burnout recovery coach, facilitator, and OD practitioner to guide you through a practical and embodied approach to designing learning spaces that are both tech-savvy and deeply human.

Who is this session for? L&D delivery, designers, and leaders who seek to balance the human side of our ever-expanding technology-driven world.

In this session you will:

  • Cultivate self-leadership by practicing body-based tools to regulate your nervous system, build resiliency, and show up with authentic presence.
  • Learn a human-centered design process that balances the gifts of high-tech learning technology (including flexibility, accessibility, personalization, metrics & analytics) with the challenges it presents to human physiology and psychology.
  • Apply what you learn by workshopping real-world design challenges with peers.

To provide a felt sense of these tools, she will weave in live feedback, accessible somatic practices, breakout groups, and others into this in-person session. She’ll also explore ways to foster human connection and attention across settings, including hybrid, virtual, and asynchronous ones. Attendees will leave with direct experience of the tools, plus a resource guide and design flow chart to continue their learning.
